Still sick....

I'm 11 weeks into this pregnancy now. I'm still coping with the crappy "morning" sickness, which is more like "all day" sickness. Thanks to my wonderful Mom and my awesome husband I am able to deal. My Mom has been here every day while Nathan is at work to care for the boys (and laundry!...thanks Mom!), and Nathan comes home every night from a long day at work only to have to cook dinner and take care of the kiddos (which he helps with all the time anyhow, I just usually cook). I'm blessed! I can't wait to get through this part! With the boys it was all over between 13 and 14 weeks. Maybe this one will be different and I'll get better tomorrow! Nathans Mom (the amazing Mother-in-law of the century winner), came yesterday to help. She pre-made dinner the night before, came down with all kinds of craft projects and favorite books for the boys, took them outside for some fun playtime, swept, mopped, vacuumed and cleaned my bathroom! I was spoiled. My Dad brings me my stash of Club Soda and brings dinner by too sometimes. Nathan's Dad often stops by to pray for me. It's so good to have an awesome family!

Number three is on the way!

That's right! We're expecting our third child at the end of May! At this point I am 8 weeks pregnant and feeling it. I am dealing with a ton of "morning" sickness. Thankfully, my Mom is amazing and has been helping me while Nathan is at work. We are blessed!

Chicken Marbella...another family favorite!

This is a recipe that Mom, A.K.A. Grandma Kaedi, makes on special occasions. We love this recipe so much that Nathan and I now have it for normal weekday dinners. It looks fancy, but it is super easy, and this chicken is amazing! Just click on the recipe and it will open up to a larger size so you can print it out. Enjoy!

The new family favorite....S'mores cookie bars!!!

These things are incredible. In fact, I daydream about them. It's that bad. This recipe comes with a warning..."Addiction may occur upon first bite." Here's the recipe:

S'mores Cookie Bars

Ingredients

* 1 cup butter, softened
* 1 1/2 cup sugar
* 2 egg
* 2 teaspoon vanilla extract
* 2 2/3 cups flour
* 1 1/2 cup graham cracker crumbs
* 2 teaspoon baking powder
* 1/2 teaspoon salt
* 1 bag of Semi-sweet chocolate chips
* 6 cups miniature marshmallows (basically one 10.5 oz bag equals 6 cups)

Directions

1.
Heat oven to 350ºF. Grease/butter an 9 x 13 baking pan.
2.
Beat butter and sugar together until well blended in a large bowl. Add egg and vanilla; beat well.
3.
In another bowl stir together flour, graham cracker crumbs, baking powder, and salt. Add to butter mixture, beating until blended.
4.
Press half the dough into the prepared pan (you'll think it's not enough, or that it's too thin, but it's not. Just keep spreading until the bottom of the pan is covered. Bake 15 minutes.
5.
Arrange chocolate chips over baked layer. Sprinkle marshmallows over the top. Scatter remaining dough over the marshmallows, forming a top layer. (I usually pat out flat pieces and put them over the top...takes lest time).
6.
Bake 10- 15 minutes or until just lightly browned. COOL COMPLETELY before cutting.

He loves the beach.

This is just a picture of our time in Santa Cruz last week. It was cold, but we still had a blast. I think by Judah's expression you might be able to tell that he was enjoying himself!

So here it goes....

Our first post, well my (Joy) first post anyway. I've been meaning to do this for awhile now, and finally got off my duff and did it. I'm pretty excited actually. I think this will be a great way to chronicle our life as a family and provide a way for our out of town and out of state friends and family to stay "in the know." Well, this one is short and sweet. Get ready to experience our crazy, yet awesome life!
