I can't believe it's been 4 years since my first was born. We had such a great morning with Judah, opening some gifts, eating birthday donuts and singing to him. He's now at school enjoying the special treatments of a birthday. I love that boy! But, Zach is bound to come early (dilated to 4....for those that know what that means). I'm just laying low and trying to get as much rest as I can before the big day comes. We're doing our best to avoid having this little guy on Judah's birthday (today May 14th), or on Jaron's birthday (Saturday May 16th). My doctor goes on vacation May 21st through the 25th! Ahhh! So.....hopefully the little man comes before then too!thesampsonlifehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00964942804285139425noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6473409865710250174.post-16084533617303641542009-04-13T15:59:00.001-07:002009-04-13T16:04:36.104-07:00Maternity photoshoot by www.heatherarmstrongphotography.comHere are the pics that I had done back in February. Heather Armstrong is an amazingly gifted photographer who mentioned to me on www.beenup2.com that she'd love to do a photo shoot of me. He is such a crack up! When I was pregnant with Jaron I really felt that Jaron was going to be our little songwriter. He has always been fascinated with instruments and music and loves to shout with joy (which is actually what his name means). He is always playing with guitars, begging me to play my guitar, watching people play their guitars.....He recently rediscovered an old beat up wooden play guitar that we tried to hide from him. He is now wanting to eat with it, sleep with it, go in the bath with it (where we draw the line...haha), and also dance around and sing with it. He has now written his first "song." It's titled "Guitar Guitar." Haha! That's all that's too it too. He has a little tune and he dances around strumming the guitar singing, "Guitar..guitar...guitar...guitar." It is just precious! When we get a video I'll have to post it here. Just had to share the joy!thesampsonlifehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00964942804285139425noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6473409865710250174.post-10817210073662684142009-03-16T16:02:00.000-07:002009-03-16T16:09:56.098-07:00Zach's 3D pics

Here's Zach! I'm still coping with the crappy "morning" sickness, which is more like "all day" sickness. Thanks to my wonderful Mom and my awesome husband I am able to deal. My Mom has been here every day while Nathan is at work to care for the boys (and laundry!...thanks Mom!), and Nathan comes home every night from a long day at work only to have to cook dinner and take care of the kiddos (which he helps with all the time anyhow, I just usually cook). I'm blessed! I can't wait to get through this part! With the boys it was all over between 13 and 14 weeks. Maybe this one will be different and I'll get better tomorrow! Nathans Mom (the amazing Mother-in-law of the century winner), came yesterday to help. She pre-made dinner the night before, came down with all kinds of craft projects and favorite books for the boys, took them outside for some fun playtime, swept, mopped, vacuumed and cleaned my bathroom! I was spoiled. My Dad brings me my stash of Club Soda and brings dinner by too sometimes. Nathan's Dad often stops by to pray for me. It's so good to have an awesome family!thesampsonlifehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00964942804285139425noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6473409865710250174.post-53935334555771130762008-10-16T09:37:00.000-07:002008-10-16T09:40:45.956-07:00Number three is on the way!<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjI21K5VWruhNy4_hf_2mvzP-Xlr-R68RCpw3Gzw05AB_I2usXEwyaXVhK9Q8CKjXjuaulq4Mp8W6uINFgCZzEqyy6VOAKEoycpHBO-oGZyJdJQFL80bVEuIqxPdartCoQ9fcnrdO-eQ7pT/s400/baby-inside-black.gif" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5257792607722331378" />
That's right! In fact, I daydream about them. It's that bad. This recipe comes with a warning..."Addiction may occur upon first bite." Here's the recipe:

S'mores Cookie Bars

Ingredients

* 1 cup butter, softened
* 1 1/2 cup sugar
* 2 egg
* 2 teaspoon vanilla extract
* 2 2/3 cups flour
* 1 1/2 cup graham cracker crumbs
* 2 teaspoon baking powder
* 1/2 teaspoon salt
* 1 bag of Semi-sweet chocolate chips
* 6 cups miniature marshmallows (basically one 10.5 oz bag equals 6 cups)

Directions

1.
Heat oven to 350ºF. Grease/butter an 9 x 13 baking pan.
2.
Beat butter and sugar together until well blended in a large bowl. Add egg and vanilla; beat well.
3.
In another bowl stir together flour, graham cracker crumbs, baking powder, and salt. Add to butter mixture, beating until blended.
4.
Press half the dough into the prepared pan (you'll think it's not enough, or that it's too thin, but it's not. Just keep spreading until the bottom of the pan is covered. Bake 15 minutes.
5.
Arrange chocolate chips over baked layer. Sprinkle marshmallows over the top. Scatter remaining dough over the marshmallows, forming a top layer. (I usually pat out flat pieces and put them over the top...takes lest time).
6.
Bake 10- 15 minutes or until just lightly browned.
